In a tiny nutshell..
Eco-Realism: An environmental sensibility that strives to stay informed about both nature and society. It acknowledges success and (sometimes almost necessary) failure. However, it does not justify complacency about man made environmental problems. Rather, it suggests finding balance between environmental concerns and society's other overwhelming needs.
What does that really mean? It means I consider myself an environmentalist; but not an extremist. I believe that little changes make a difference.. and that being 100% eco/carbon-neutral/etc isn't feasible for 95% of the people on this planet. So it's best to get them to take small steps; so we're all at least headed in a better direction.
